The Palm lap
The classic Dubai charter is a late-afternoon start: out of the Marina, around the
Palm’s crescent as the light drops, Burj Al Arab and the skyline stacking up
behind — and back for dinner at Zuma or
Cipriani. Winter water is warm, flat and reliable in
a way the Med never quite is.
The season
October to May the calendar stacks — F1 Abu Dhabi an hour down the road, New
Year fireworks from the water as the only sane vantage, and the
winter season experience tying boats,
suites and tables into one run.
Dubai Harbour, the boat show and the winter calendar
Dubai's charter fleet works from two main bases. Dubai Marina is the older one, set among the towers. Dubai Harbour is the newer superyacht marina, built for larger boats.
Dubai Harbour
Dubai Harbour sits between Bluewaters Island and the Palm Jumeirah. It was planned for 1,100 berths over two phases, for yachts up to 160 metres.
It is operated by D-Marin and welcomed its first boats in October 2020. The marina has its own helipad, fuel pumps and crew facilities.
For a client arriving by helicopter, the harbour removes the drive through the Marina traffic altogether. The Palm lap starts at the harbour mouth.
The boat show moves to November
The Dubai International Boat Show has moved from its spring slot. The 2026 edition runs from 25 to 29 November at Dubai Harbour.
The organisers chose the new dates to match the start of the region's prime boating season. They expect more than 32,000 visitors and around 200 boats on display.
For charter guests that week matters in two ways. Some of the best boats are on show rather than on hire, and berths at the harbour are at their tightest.
Planning the season
From late November to March the calendar fills with the boat show, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and New Year. Dates around each are the first to go.

How much does yacht hire in Dubai cost?
