Ibiza airport, the general aviation terminal and the season’s pressure points
Ibiza airport sits 7 km south-west of Ibiza Town, run by the Spanish operator Aena. Its single runway, 06/24, is 2,800 m long, so every business jet can use it. The island handled about 9 million passengers in 2024, most of them between spring and early autumn.
Arriving by private jet
Private flights use a separate general aviation terminal, away from the main hall. Several handling agents work from it, including Sky Valet, ExecuJet, Jetex, AviaVIP and Ibizair. Each operator uses its own handler, and we tell the driver which door before you land. Ibiza Town and the port are a short drive; villas in the north of the island take longer.
When the season tightens
The club season now opens earlier than many expect. In 2026 the big openings fell on the International Music Summit weekend, 24 to 27 April. Pacha opened on the 24th and 25th, Hï on the 25th, Ushuaïa on the 26th and DC10 on the 27th. Amnesia followed on 9 May. Those days, and every July and August weekend, are when slots and ramp space run short.
On the London side, Farnborough opens 08:00 to 20:00 at weekends, which caps a Friday-night or Sunday-evening return. Luton runs to the same slot discipline as an airline airport.
