Flying private to Courchevel

Courchevel Altiport is a 537-metre runway with an 18.5% gradient and no go-around procedure. It takes turboprops and specifically certified crews, and it does not take jets at all. Anyone quoting you a jet into Courchevel is quoting you an airport you are not landing at.

The realistic options are a turboprop directly into the Altiport, or a jet into Chambéry or Geneva finished by helicopter. Chambéry is roughly an hour by road; Geneva is ninety minutes by road or twenty-five by helicopter.

1850 is where the money stays. Lunch at altitude — Nammos, Bagatelle, La Folie Douce — is the social centre of the day rather than an interruption to skiing, and those tables book like restaurants in a capital city.

Why jets cannot land at Courchevel

The Altiport’s length, slope and terrain rule out jet operations entirely. Turboprops such as the PC-12 and King Air are certified for it with qualified crews. This is the single most common misunderstanding in Alpine charter.

Chambéry and Geneva alternatives

Chambéry (CMF) takes jets and is about an hour from 1850 by road. Geneva (GVA) is the larger gateway at ninety minutes by road or twenty-five by helicopter. We pick the routing around your aircraft, not the other way round.

Peak weeks

Christmas, New Year and February half-term are the three pressure points. Chalets go a season ahead; aircraft and helicopter slots need two to three months.

What we arrange around the flight

Cars on both ends as standard, helicopter where the timing needs it, and the villa or suite and tables held before you land. See our Courchevel concierge service for what that covers on the ground.
