The Global 7500: four rooms in the air, and the range to use them

The Global 7500's cabin runs 16.59 m from the cockpit divider to the rear of the cabin. It is 2.44 m wide and 1.88 m high. Bombardier divides it into four living spaces, so a principal can have a bedroom at the back while staff work in the forward club.

Up to nineteen passengers can be seated, and the baggage compartment holds 5.5 m³.

Global 7500 range with a realistic load

The Global 7500 is rated at 7,700 nm with eight passengers and four crew at Mach 0.85, under standard reserves. Maximum operating speed is Mach 0.925, and high-speed cruise is Mach 0.90. At maximum weight its initial cruise is limited to 43,000 ft, and it climbs to 51,000 ft as fuel burns off.

Runway and airports

Take-off at full weight needs about 1,756 m at sea level, and landing about 682 m. That is short for an aircraft of this size. It also appears on London City's list of approved operator aircraft. Approval there is given per operator and per tail, not for the type as a whole.

For London to Dubai or Lagos to Dubai, the Global 7500 has range to spare. It earns its place when the flight is overnight and the cabin needs to work as a home.

The Global 7500 against its class siblings

The G650ER has a wider cabin but a shorter one. The Falcon 8X is narrower and quieter, and it can use shorter runways. Bombardier has since developed the Global 8000 on the same airframe, with 8,000 nm of range and a top speed of Mach 0.95.
