The restaurant first opened here in 1898. Architect Émile Hurtré designed the glass-roofed winter garden, with ceramics by Jules Wielhorski and painted panels by Hubert and Martineau. That room was listed as a historic monument in December 1983. The 2018 refit by Humbert & Poyet kept the skylight, friezes and mirrors. It won a heritage prize at the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards.

Nine versions of mashed potato sit alongside, and the plates are made for the house by Bernardaud. Sunday brings a brunch menu with truffled scrambled eggs and churros.

Lunch runs from noon until 2.30pm on weekdays and until 3pm at weekends. Dinner starts at 7pm from Sunday to Thursday and finishes at 11pm. On Friday and Saturday it runs from 7.30pm to 11.30pm. A seasonal terrace opens in the warmer months.
