Girafe sits in the Palais de Chaillot with the dining terrace every visitor to Paris wants — the Eiffel Tower filling the window. Seafood-led, Art Deco, and run by the Paris Society group at their most polished. The terrace at golden hour is among the city's hardest tables; winter moves the theatre indoors.
Booking, the OF.luxury way
One message covers it: date, party size and any preferences. We confirm availability and the night's terms directly with the venue, hold the table in your name, and stay reachable until you are seated. Every booking is subject to the venue's availability and confirmed case by case.
Girafe at the Palais de Chaillot: the terrace, the kitchen and the practicalities
Girafe occupies part of the Palais de Chaillot at 1 Place du Trocadéro et du 11 Novembre, in the 16th arrondissement. Guests enter through the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine rather than from the open esplanade. Cars set down on the Place du Trocadéro, so ask your driver for the museum entrance.
From Le Bourget the run crosses the city from the north-east to the western edge of central Paris. Allow for the périphérique and evening traffic around Étoile when timing a sunset table.
The view and the room
The terrace covers about 280 square metres and looks across the Seine and the Champ de Mars to the Eiffel Tower. Inside, Joseph Dirand designed the dining room in a 1930s spirit, with cream banquettes, a marble bar and original pilasters.
What the kitchen does
The menu is built around the sea: oysters and shellfish platters, ceviches and sashimi, then whole sole, turbot or daurade and a lobster pasta. It suits a long lunch as well as dinner, and the wine list leans towards established labels.
Hours
Lunch runs from 12:00 to 14:30 on weekdays and from 12:30 to 16:00 at weekends. Dinner is served every evening from 19:00, with the bar open until 02:00.
Groups and private dining
The whole restaurant can be taken privately, for up to 80 seated or 100 for a standing reception. The terrace alone can also be hired in season. For a business dinner, a table inside away from the terrace bar is calmer and easier for conversation.
Across the avenue, Monsieur Bleu at the Palais de Tokyo offers a similar tower view with a French menu. During the collections, our Fashion Week page sets out the weeks when these terrace tables are hardest to secure.
