La Guérite: the cove, the kitchen and the 2026 season
La Guérite dates its story on the island back to 1902. It sits in a rocky cove of Île Sainte-Marguerite, on a site of about 1,000 square metres. More than 400 square metres of that is sand, and the view runs back across the whole Bay of Cannes.
The kitchen
The chef is Yiannis Kioroglou, from Athens, who buys at markets and fish auctions. Cooking is done in the oven, over charcoal and on the barbecue. Aromatic herbs and marinades carry the flavour. Expect grilled fish and meat and plates that go to the middle of the table.
Season and hours
For 2026 the restaurant opened on 7 May and closes on 11 October. Lunch is served every day, and the island day runs from late morning to about 6pm. On Saturdays in July and August it also opens for dinner, the rarest booking on its calendar.
The space
About 250 guests can be seated. Terrace and sand can be privatised for up to 300, with roughly 250 square metres under shade. There is a pétanque garden, which keeps children and a long afternoon occupied.
