How to get to La Guérite, Cannes, in detail

La Guérite sits on Île Sainte-Marguerite, the larger of the Lérins islands, about fifteen minutes off Cannes by boat. You cannot drive, and that single fact catches most first-timers out.

There are three ways across. The public ferry (Riviera Lines) from the Quai Saint-Pierre runs regularly through the day and is the cheapest. The restaurant’s own shuttle leaves from the Capitainerie at Port Canto (from Mouré Rouge during the Festival) when you book. Or you arrive by your own boat and drop anchor in the bay, which is what most of the tables in August do.

Plan the return before you go out. The last public ferry is earlier than people expect — the last return in 2026 was at 18:30 — and a long lunch that turns into the late afternoon is exactly how guests end up stranded. If you are on a yacht for the day we can hold the tender and the table together so the timings actually line up.

Crossing to La Guérite: departure points, timetables and the way back

The restaurant shuttle

La Guérite's own shuttle leaves from the Capitainerie, the harbour master's office at Port Canto. Port Canto is the marina at the eastern end of the Croisette, a few minutes by car from the seafront hotels. During the Film Festival the shuttle moves to Mouré Rouge, further east along the coast. Tell the driver which one applies to your date.

The public ferry

Riviera Lines runs a public crossing to Sainte-Marguerite from the old port, with its office at 20 Quai Saint-Pierre. Its 2026 timetable has departures from Cannes about every half hour from 9am, the last at 5.30pm. Return boats run roughly hourly, and the last leaves the island at 6.30pm. The ferry lands at the island's main quay, by the trails to Fort Royal.

From a yacht

Yachts anchor in the bay off the restaurant. La Guérite runs a boat shuttle to vessels at mooring, so guests do not have to launch their own tender. Crew should still confirm the pick-up point with the restaurant on the morning.

Matching the timings

Lunch service winds down around 6pm, just inside the last public ferry. On Saturdays in July and August, dinner runs after the public boats have stopped. On those nights the restaurant shuttle or your own boat is the only way back.

Before and after

The season ends on 11 October in 2026. Guests flying in for the day can come from Nice by helicopter to Cannes, then by car to Port Canto. Those who would rather have their own boat for the day can see our Cannes yachts.
