Inside La Môme on rue Florian: the room, the kitchen and the house
La Môme is at 6 rue Florian, a short street just back from the Croisette. It takes its name from La Môme Moineau, the 1920s singer who owned the Villa Bagatelle in Cannes. She was known for her lavish Riviera parties.
The room
An elegant bar is the first thing inside the door. Beyond it the dining room is carpeted, with iridescent velvet seats against polished concrete walls. A DJ sets the tone as the evening goes on, so the room feels livelier at eleven than at eight.
The kitchen
The cooking is Mediterranean with a strong Italian line and seasonal produce. Truffle risotto, ravioli with egg yolk and beef carpaccio are typical. Meat and fish are seared on the grill or the plancha. Homemade focaccia arrives with cocktails at the bar.
The house
La Môme is the first restaurant of the brothers Antoine and Ugo Lecorché. Their group now runs Midô and Môka on the same street and La Môme Plage on the Croisette. It also has restaurants in Monte Carlo, Paris and London.
Hours and arrival
Dinner is served seven nights a week from 7.30pm. Valet parking is available at the door, so a car can drop and collect without searching for a space. The central Croisette hotels are a few minutes' walk.
