La Guérite Cannes minimum spend, in detail

La Guérite does not publish a fixed minimum spend the way a Croisette club does, and we are not going to invent one. What it has is a price level: this is a long island lunch with fish, rosé and a bill that reflects both.

What moves the number is the table — front tables on the water go for a premium in August — and the fish, which is priced by weight. Ask the price per kilo when you order; it is the single biggest variable in the bill and the one people are most surprised by.

For a specific date we will get the terms in writing from the restaurant before anything is held, including whether your date carries a minimum at all. In peak August with a front table, expect the answer to be yes.

What makes up a La Guérite bill beyond the table

Three separate charges

A day at La Guérite usually involves three things charged separately: the boat, the beds and lunch. The boat is arranged and paid for separately from the table, whether it is the restaurant shuttle, the public ferry or your own tender. Sunbeds are priced per bed for the day, and the price includes an umbrella and a towel.

Beds by row

The first line on the sand is priced above the rows behind it. For a family or a group this is often the real decision, more than the food. A front row of beds for six is a substantial line of its own before anyone sits down to eat.

Lunch and Saturday dinner

Lunch is the standard booking, every day of the season. The Saturday dinners in July and August are a different service, and their terms are worth confirming separately rather than assumed from lunch.

Private hire

The restaurant can be privatised for up to 300 guests, using about 250 square metres of shaded terrace and 100 square metres in the open. Terms for a privatisation are quoted by the restaurant for the specific date.

Settling up

Where one host is paying for a party, ask for beds and lunch on a single bill. It avoids a queue of separate payments at the end of a long afternoon, with a boat waiting.

The boat itself

Guests arriving on their own or a chartered yacht skip the shuttle charge. The restaurant runs a boat shuttle to vessels at mooring, so the yacht's own tender can stay aboard. For a group of eight or more, a day yacht can make better sense than shuttles and beds; see our Cannes yachts.
