In Saint-Tropez, the choice between areas is really a choice about how you will move each day.
Les Parcs de Saint-Tropez
Les Parcs is the gated estate close to the village and the port. From here you can reach the harbour and dinner in town without the coastal traffic. It suits clients who will keep a yacht in the port or eat in the village most nights.
Ramatuelle and the Pampelonne hills
About half of Pampelonne beach lies in Ramatuelle, about 5 km south-east of the village. Houses in the hills above it are larger and quieter. They sit near the beach restaurants by day and further from the village by night. A driver is part of every plan here.
Flying in
La Môle airfield is about 15 km from Saint-Tropez. Its runway is about 1,070 m, with only 931 m to land on runway 06. Every jet needs paperwork filed a month ahead, and pilots need a training flight there first. Flights from outside Europe can only use it from 1 July to 15 October, between 09:00 and 19:00. For larger aircraft, Nice or Cannes-Mandelieu, followed by a helicopter, is the usual answer.
Season’s end
Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez closes the summer, running from late September into early October. Villas near the port are in demand that week, as crews and owners fill the town.
