COYA Monte Carlo runs a smart casual dress code, but Monaco applies smart casual more strictly than most cities do. The room sits on Avenue Princesse Grace beside Jimmy'z and the Monte-Carlo Sporting, the crowd arrives from the Sporting or a boat, and it dresses accordingly.

In practice: a shirt or a fine knit with tailored trousers for men, a jacket in the evening more often than not. Dark denim is accepted; distressed denim is not. Women's dress runs from tailored to elegant — Monaco is the least casual room on this coast and the standard is visibly higher than Nice or Cannes.

Refused: beachwear, sportswear, flip-flops, sliders and shorts after dark. If the night continues at Jimmy'z next door, dress for its stricter smart-elegant code from the start.

What to wear on COYA's terrace, month by month

COYA Monte-Carlo is on Avenue Princesse Grace, by the Monte-Carlo Sporting on the Larvotto shore, not on Casino Square. The dress question here is about a sea-facing terrace and what you do after dinner.

The season changes the answer

The restaurant opens from early April to late October and serves from 7pm to 1am. A terrace dinner in July is warm into the night. In April and late October the air by the water cools after dark. Bring a light jacket or a wrap for the second half of the meal.

If the night continues at Jimmy'z

Jimmy'z is in the same complex and opens at 11.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Its door is stricter than COYA's. If you plan to walk over after dinner, dress for the club, not the restaurant. A jacket for men and evening wear for women covers both.

Shared nights

In 2026 COYA and Jimmy'z shared several nights with guest DJs, including the season's closing night on 25 September. On those dates many tables move on to the club, and the room dresses for it.
