Ibiza’s best beach club has no address: it is the water off Formentera. Day boats to Es Palmador and Illetes, sunset off Cala Jondal, and the tender dropping you at the club as the island switches on.

Twenty minutes south and the water goes glass-clear over white sand — the Illetes anchorage is the day charter the whole Balearic season is organised around. Lunch stays simple and barefoot; the serious tables wait on the big island.
Anchor off Blue Marlin for the sunset set and tender in as the daybeds turn into the party — then the night runs on: Hï, Ushuaïa, Pacha, all held from the same desk. The opening parties week pairs the boat with all of it.

The water off Formentera is clear because of the seagrass beneath it. The Balearic rules that protect that seagrass now decide where every boat stops.
Anchoring on Posidonia meadows is prohibited throughout the Balearics. A Spanish decree of March 2026 widened this into a general ban on anchoring in Posidonia and Cymodocea beds.
In those areas only approved low-impact moorings, such as buoys, are allowed. Patrol boats check through the summer, and the fines under national law can run to seven figures.
Reservable buoy fields operate at S'Espalmador, Caló de s'Oli and Ses Salines. Bookings are made through the Balearic ports authority, up to the evening before.
On Ibiza the protected anchorages include Talamanca, Cala Bassa, Cala d'Hort, Porroig, Cala Vadella, Es Xarco and Benirràs. New buoy fields are planned off Porroig, Cala d'Hort and Talamanca for summer 2027.
Outside the fields, the skipper anchors on clear sand. Waste goes ashore to marina facilities, never over the side.
Marina Botafoch, on the north side of Ibiza harbour, has 428 berths for boats up to 30 metres. It suits most day boats and flybridges, and faces Dalt Vila across the harbour.
For an Illetes day in August, the buoy is booked when the boat is. Without one, the boat looks for sand, which can mean lying further out than you expect.
