Le Plongeoir reservations, in detail

Le Plongeoir is one of the hardest reservations in Nice for one reason: the room is tiny and the view is famous. There are only so many tables on a platform in the sea, and demand does not scale.

Sunset dinner in July and August needs three to four weeks. Lunch is easier. Shoulder season — May, June, September — is both easier to book and, on a clear day, better, because the light matters more here than at any other table on this coast.

Know which space you are booking: Le Rocher and Le Plongeoir are the two dining spaces, with the Le Vivier lounge alongside. Tell us the occasion and we ask for the right one; all are confirmed bookings.

Booking it through us

Send the date and party size on WhatsApp and we confirm directly with the venue — typically within the hour. We confirm the table position and the terms in writing before anything is committed, and if the date has gone we say so rather than place you somewhere adjacent.

Booking Le Plongeoir: the spaces, the hours and the timing

Name the space

The restaurant has two dining areas. Le Plongeoir is the platform over the sea, for up to 40. Le Rocher, on the rock, takes up to 50 and has a heated, enclosed section for 36. When we place a booking, we ask for one by name rather than for "a good table".

Working around the hours

Service runs every day from noon to 9.30pm, from mid-March to mid-November. There is no late sitting. In midsummer the sun sets close to the kitchen's last orders, so the sunset table is also the last table of the day.

Time on the table

Reviewers report that at busy times tables are held for a set period, often about 90 minutes to two hours. Plan the evening that follows around it.

Cooler months

In March, April, October and November, the heated enclosure in Le Rocher is the table to ask for if the evening may turn cold. The platform is exposed whatever the season.

The lounge

Le Vivier, the lounge bar, opens from late May to late September. It keeps its own hours, from 2.30pm to 11pm, and suits drinks before or after a meal.

Groups
