Getting there & timing

Capri is reached by boat or helicopter via Naples — there are no visitor cars on the island. Lunch bookings matter as much as dinner here. VIP transport — jets, helicopters and chauffeured cars — can be arranged around the booking for guests arriving from overseas.

About Anema e Core

Anema e Core is Capri's legendary tavern night — the guitar-led singalong founded by the late Guido Lembo and now led by his son Gianluigi that turns billionaires and honeymooners into one chorus. No show on the island is more copied and none comes close; tables go quickly in season and the night never starts before eleven.

Anema e Core today: the family, the hour and the way in

Taverna Anema e Core is at Via Sella Orta 39/e, in the lanes of Capri town. The entrance is easy to miss, a plain doorway on a busy lane. Have the driver or porter walk you to it the first time.

The family behind it

Guido Lembo opened the taverna in 1994 and led its nights for almost three decades. He died in 2022. His son, Gianluigi Lembo, now leads the music and keeps the format his father built. The name means "heart and soul" in the local dialect.

How the night runs

The night starts around midnight and runs until about four in the morning. The music is live and Neapolitan, with guitars and voices. The room joins in, singing and dancing. Trompe-l'oeil paintings cover the walls. It is a taverna, not a nightclub with a DJ booth, and the evening is built around the band.

Who goes

The room mixes visitors, islanders, politicians and well-known guests on one floor. Nobody is given a separate stage. That shared night is the point. It suits groups and couples who will join in. It does not suit anyone who wants to stay on the side.

Getting there and back

Non-resident cars are restricted on Capri for most of the year. Guests staying in Capri town walk. From Anacapri, take a taxi to the edge of town and walk the last stretch. If you are on a yacht at Marina Grande, the funicular links the port to the town. Late at night a taxi does the same climb.
