Grand Prix week
A deck in Port Hercule during the Grand Prix
is the best seat in world sport — the harbour chicane metres away, the city as
grandstand. Berths and hospitality decks are the scarcest tickets we source all year;
the conversation for May starts the previous summer.
The Riviera from Port Hercule
Outside the peaks, Monaco is the perfect base line: Italy one way — lunch in
San Remo or Portofino on a fast boat — and the whole Riviera the other, with
Twiga and
Jimmy’z waiting when you step off. The
GP weekend experience pairs the
deck with everything ashore.
Port Hercule, Fontvieille and the 2027 Monaco calendar
Monaco has two harbours, and they do different jobs. Both are run by the Société d'Exploitation des Ports de Monaco, which takes berth requests through its online client portal.
Port Hercule
Port Hercule is the deep-water harbour under the Rocher and the casino. It has about 700 berths and also takes cruise ships.
Only around 30 of those berths are for visitors, on the Quai des États-Unis and the central T pontoon by the swimming pool. That is why a visiting berth in a big week is negotiated, not simply booked.
Fontvieille
Fontvieille, below the Rocher on the other side, is smaller and well sheltered. It has 275 berths, 16 of them for visitors, and a maximum draught of three metres. It suits day boats rather than larger yachts.
The 2027 dates that fill the harbour
The Monaco E-Prix runs on 1 and 2 May 2027. The Formula 1 Grand Prix follows from 3 to 6 June. In 2027 it opens the European season and, for the first time, adds a Sprint, with two qualifying sessions and two races.
That puts competitive running on Saturday as well as Sunday, so a deck is in use all weekend. The Historic Grand Prix takes a year off and returns in 2028.
In late September the Monaco Yacht Show brings more than 120 superyachts into Port Hercule. Its opening day is by invitation. Berths and charters around it are committed early.
