Badrutt's Palace for the 2026-27 winter
Badrutt's Palace stands at Via Serlas 27 in St. Moritz Dorf, above the frozen lake. Caspar Badrutt opened it in 1896, and it is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. For the 2026-27 season it opens on 3 December 2026 and closes on 30 March 2027.
Arrival
Engadin Airport at Samedan is about 5 km away. Its 1,800-metre runway sits at 1,707 metres and has no instrument landing system, so arrivals depend on visual conditions. The nearest airports with scheduled flights are Lugano and Milan Malpensa, each roughly 180 km away. Guests arriving by train are met at St. Moritz station.
What is changing this winter
The hotel is part-way through a staged renovation. Champalimaud Design is reworking rooms on several floors, trading room count for larger rooms and suites. Martin Brudnizki's studio has redesigned La Coupole-Matsuhisa, the Japanese-Peruvian restaurant. Giuseppe Porcelli has created a new bar within Le Grand Hall, long known as the living room of St. Moritz.
Dining, families and the slopes
Eleven restaurants operate in winter. They range from the formal Le Restaurant to Chesa Veglia, a separate building nearby with four dining venues and a bar. Chesa Veglia also holds what is described as the smallest restaurant in St. Moritz. King's Social House, in the hotel, takes over for dinner and late nights from Wednesday to Sunday.
Kid's Club Palazzino takes children aged three to twelve daily from 9.30am to 7pm, outside lunch and dinner. The Corviglia ski area is reached by the Chantarella funicular in St. Moritz Dorf, about six minutes' walk from the hotel.
