The Hero Dubai Desert Classic is a DP World Tour event and, in 2027, the first Rolex Series tournament of the year. This page covers the 2027 dates and venue, what the tournament is, what hospitality usually looks like there, and how OF.luxury can arrange the trip around it.
Hero Dubai Desert Classic 2027: dates and venue
The 2027 Hero Dubai Desert Classic is played from Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 January 2027 at Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, on the Majlis Course. The tournament website lists those dates. It is reported as the 38th edition and the first Rolex Series event of 2027.
What the tournament is
The tournament dates back to 1989, and its organisers describe it as Dubai’s longest-running golf tournament. The trophy is contested on the Majlis Course, and the Emirates Golf Club clubhouse has views of the course and the Dubai skyline.
The format is the usual four rounds, Thursday to Sunday. Beyond the golf, the organisers run a fan village known as Tournament Town, with food trucks, activities and live entertainment, and the Friday is promoted as a family day. For a first-time visitor that means you do not need to follow every shot to enjoy the day.
What hospitality usually looks like here
The tournament’s own website lists the ticket and hospitality categories the organisers sell. As we checked on 16 October 2026, they include:
- General admission. Access to the tournament grounds and to the Tournament Town fan village. Children aged 17 and under need a registered ticket and must be accompanied by an adult.
- Clubhouse tickets. Access to the Emirates Golf Club clubhouse and the course, with the clubhouse’s dining outlets and lounges. The ticket covers access rather than hosted food and drink.
- A main hospitality lounge. Positioned on the 9th green with views of the 18th, with gourmet dining, an open bar with premium drinks and outdoor viewing terraces. It is sold as a four-day season option or by the day.
- Rooftop18. An open-air rooftop deck over the 18th and 9th greens, with a five-hour brunch of premium casual dining and unlimited house drinks. It is for guests aged 21 and over.
These are the organiser’s own products, and prices on their ticket pages are shown including 5% VAT. At the time we checked, the individual days were marked “on sale soon” on the ticket page, even though the home page promoted early-bird hospitality. Details can change, so confirm on the tournament site.
How to choose between the organiser’s categories
The categories above are easier to compare once you know what each one is for.
General admission suits people who want to walk the course and follow a favourite player. You get the grounds and Tournament Town, but no reserved base, so you manage your own food, drink and rest breaks.
The clubhouse ticket adds access to the clubhouse and its lounges, which helps if you want somewhere to sit down and see the skyline. The organisers state that the ticket covers access to the clubhouse and course only, with a breakfast included for ticket holders in one of the clubhouse outlets.
The hospitality lounge is the fully hosted option. It is positioned on the 9th green with views of the 18th, so you can watch the climax of each round from a terrace without leaving your table and bar. The organisers describe different touches by day, such as afternoon tea on Thursday and an all-inclusive weekend offer.
Rooftop18 is built around time rather than a table plan. A five-hour brunch with house drinks suits a social group that wants a long, relaxed day, though it is restricted to guests aged 21 and over.
None of these is better in the abstract. The right choice depends on how much you want to walk, who is coming and whether the day is for golf or for entertaining.
What the organisers say about each day
The tournament website gives a short description of each round, which is useful when you are choosing a date.
- Thursday 21 January: the tournament tees off, with four days of golf and entertainment beginning.
- Friday 22 January: described as a festival atmosphere with Family Friday, live entertainment, food and drink and plenty to enjoy beyond the course.
- Saturday 23 January: the competition intensifies as players battle for a place in Sunday’s finale, with a weekend atmosphere around the course.
- Sunday 24 January: the final day, when the champion lifts the trophy.
The hospitality lounge is also sold as a four-day season option, which suits a host who wants to bring different guests on different days from the same base.
Before you get in touch
A few practical points will make your enquiry easier to answer. First, confirm the dates with everyone in your group, because the tournament week is short and the days differ. Second, decide whether anyone in your party is under 21, since Rooftop18 is adults only and children need registered tickets. Third, think about whether you want to be near the 18th green, which is where the organisers place their main hospitality viewing, or whether a flexible base matters more.
Finally, check what you need for travel. If you are flying in, allow time on either side of the tournament, and make sure passports and any visa requirements are in order well before January. Official guidance for your nationality is the place to check.
How OF.luxury arranges the trip
We do not sell tickets or hospitality for the tournament; those come from the organisers, and we will not guess at what they include or cost. OF.luxury arranges the trip around the event: hotel, transfers, dining, and access through the organisers’ own routes. We confirm everything in writing before you pay.
Messaging us early helps, because hotel rooms and cars are the first things to tighten in tournament week. When you get in touch, tell us:
- Which day or days you want, or whether you are flexible.
- How many guests, and whether any are under 21 (some spaces are adults only).
- Whether you want a hosted lunch, a flexible lounge, or a view of a specific green.
- Whether you also need a hotel or transfers in Dubai.
There is no obligation, and everything is confirmed in writing before you pay.
Planning the trip
Emirates Golf Club is in Dubai, so you can stay in the city and travel in for the day. Our Dubai page lists the venues and experiences we cover there, and the winter season month by month shows what else is on in January. If you want a hotel or transfers alongside hospitality, mention it when you message us, and we can arrange a chauffeur for the tournament days.
