Abuja–London is the capital’s corridor: government, diplomatic and oil-sector traffic that needs to be in London for a morning and back without a connection through Lagos or the Gulf. It is one nonstop leg of roughly six hours thirty on a heavy or ultra-long-range aircraft, into Farnborough, Luton or Stansted — all three of which put you closer to central London than Heathrow does, handled airside.
The leg is about 124 nautical miles shorter than Lagos–London, which sounds like it should be cheaper and generally is not. Most of the Nigerian fleet is based in Lagos, so an Abuja departure usually carries a positioning leg that absorbs the difference.
