The leg is about 124 nautical miles shorter than Lagos–London, which sounds like it should be cheaper and generally is not. A shorter leg that is rarely cheaper
Most of the long-range jets available for charter in Nigeria are based in Lagos. To collect you in Abuja, the aircraft first flies an hour north-east empty, and that positioning leg is part of the price. It cancels out what the shorter distance saves, which is why the guide matches Lagos to London.
The exception is when an aircraft is already in Abuja or due there. We check for that first, and for an empty leg heading back towards Europe.
Leaving from the capital
Abuja is one of Nigeria’s five international airports of entry, so you clear immigration there and fly direct. There is no need to route through Lagos. Departure is from the General Aviation Terminal, apart from the scheduled terminal.
