Booking Le Maschou — what to know

Le Maschou runs on the table: front-row daybeds and dinner tables go to those who reserve first, especially through Cannes Film Festival, the Lions and the summer weekends. Open nightly, 19:00 to 02:30. Dress is smart elegant, and minimums are confirmed on request.

How we book it

Send your date, party size and an indicative budget on WhatsApp and we confirm directly with the venue — usually within the hour in season. Nothing is committed until you approve; if your first choice is full we come back with the closest genuine alternative in Cannes, never a downgrade dressed up.

Getting there & timing

Nice Côte d'Azur and Cannes-Mandelieu handle private arrivals, with the Croisette 20–30 minutes away; helicopters land closer still. Festival fortnight and July–August are the periods to plan around. VIP transport can be arranged around the booking.

About Le Maschou

Le Maschou has been a fixture of Le Suquet, Cannes' old quarter, since 1963 — at 15 rue Saint-Antoine, an open grill, French classics and a warm, characterful room up the hill from the port. A local institution that keeps its regulars.

Booking, the OF.luxury way

One message covers it: date, party size and any preferences. We confirm availability and the day's terms directly with the venue, hold the table in your name, and stay reachable until you are seated. Every booking is subject to the venue's availability and confirmed case by case.

Le Maschou: the wood fire in the Suquet since 1963

The restaurant spells its name Le Maschou. It is at 15 rue Saint-Antoine, in the old Suquet quarter on the hill above the port. It opened in 1963 and has cooked the same way ever since.

The fire

The fireplace is both the centre of the room and the kitchen's main tool. Meat and fish are grilled over a wood fire. The beef comes from selected producers, and everything on the menu is made in the house. It is the kind of cooking that suits a table which cares more about a well-grilled steak than a long tasting menu.

The room

The dining room is in rustic tones around the open hearth. A bar area runs as a lounge with a DJ from 7pm, so there is somewhere to wait for the table with a drink. It feels closer to a country inn than to a Croisette dining room.

Hours

Le Maschou serves dinner only, every night from 7pm, with service until 2.30am. That late kitchen is useful after a screening, a late flight or a long day on a boat, when most dining rooms have closed.

Arriving

Expect a short uphill walk through the old quarter; comfortable shoes matter more here than on the Croisette. Bookings are taken by telephone and by email to the restaurant.

Who it suits

A relaxed family dinner, a group of friends, or a visitor who wants old Cannes rather than the beach clubs. For a livelier Italian evening with a piano and dancing, Luigi by the Martinez is the contrast. Our Cannes 2026 guide places it among the town's other tables.
