Annex Beach: the grotto room, the kitchen and the hours
On its own site and with the Cannes tourist office, the venue spells itself Annex Beach. It takes the sand opposite number 55 on the Boulevard de la Croisette. The beach opens at 10am and the restaurant serves from midday, so one booking can cover a whole day.
The room
Jacques Garcia was appointed to redesign the space in 2020. He took his cue from the grotto of the Borromean Islands palace in Italy. The result is baroque and theatrical, quite unlike the white-and-teak look of most Croisette beaches. Roberto Cavalli styled the restaurant. There are about 75 covers inside and around 160 on the terrace at the water's edge.
The kitchen
The menu is Italian at heart, built on family recipes and Mediterranean produce. The tourist office credits it to Gennaro Esposito, the two-Michelin-starred Italian chef. Lunch is the lighter, sunlit version of the card. Dinner is when the show runs alongside it.
Season and hours
For 2026 the tourist office listed an opening on 27 February, with lunch to late evening through the spring. From April the beach opens at 10am. From July to mid-September the restaurant runs until 2am every night.
Who it suits
The dinner-and-show format suits a birthday, a team evening or a group that wants the whole night planned in one place. A client lunch is calmer at midday on the terrace. If the performance matters, ask for a table with a clear view of it; the water's-edge tables trade that for the sea.
