Nammos Mykonos dress code, in detail

The code is beach chic: resort dressing rather than swimwear once you leave the bed. Lunch is relaxed, and the room dresses up noticeably as the afternoon turns into the evening.

Men: linen shirt or a good tee, tailored shorts or light trousers, espadrilles or clean loafers. Women: kaftans, resort dresses, elevated swimwear with a cover-up. Nammos is photographed constantly and the crowd dresses for that more than for any written rule.

What does not work: football shirts, visible swim shorts at the table in the evening, and anything that reads as a stag group. There is no jacket requirement and there is a clear expectation.

Dressing for a Nammos day that runs from 11am to 2am

The difficulty at Nammos is not the code but the length of the day. The beach opens at 11am and the restaurant serves until 2am. Many guests are therefore dressed for sun at noon and for dinner at ten. Plan for both.

Arriving by sea

Guests coming from a yacht are often brought to the beach by a Nammos Riva. A fast tender ride can be wet, so travel in swimwear with a cover-up and carry the evening clothes in a bag. Light fabrics that pack small are the practical choice.

Arriving by helicopter or car

Those landing on the Nammos helipad meet rotor wash on the pad. Anything loose, from a wide-brimmed hat to a silk scarf, is better held than worn. Guests using the valet can leave a change of clothes in the car for the evening. Villa guests can simply change at home; see villas in Mykonos.

The cabanas

The four cabanas, Nero, Marrone, Azzurro and Aqua Marina, each have a private outdoor hot tub. Swimwear is normal there all afternoon. A cabana also gives somewhere private to change before moving to a restaurant table.

After sunset

Evenings on Mykonos often turn breezy when the meltemi blows. A light knit or a jacket over the shoulders is sensible for a table near the water. Flat sandals or espadrilles are wiser than heels on sand.
