Trocadero Arena is on Playa de Río Real, at kilometre 186 of the N-340 coast road, east of Marbella town. That is six kilometres nearer town than Nikki Beach at kilometre 192. Puerto Banús and the Golden Mile lie on the other side of the centre.

Unlike most beach clubs on this coast, Trocadero Arena opens every day of the year. The restaurant runs from 11am to 1am, and the kitchen from 1pm to 11pm. That makes it useful outside the summer season, for a winter lunch in the sun or a late dinner by the sea.
The setting
The interiors are by Lorenzo Queipo de Llano, with colonial-style furniture in the lounge. The look is calm and well-kept rather than loud. The beach club has hammocks and loungers kept for guests, with its own reservation line.

The kitchen cooks Mediterranean dishes with local and Asian influences. A sushi bar sits alongside the main menu, so one table can order both. The cocktail bar makes its own recipes. DJ sessions add music as the day goes on, without turning the restaurant into a club.
