Lucia on the Croisette: who runs it and what to expect
Lucia opened in March 2024 at 45 Boulevard de la Croisette. It comes from the Nikki Beach Hospitality Group, but it is a different proposition from the group's party beaches. Lucia is a food-led beach restaurant, and the name comes from the Latin lux, for light.
The kitchen
The group calls the style cuisine du soleil. The menu draws on France and Italy, and also on Lebanon and Turkey, and it changes with the season. Alessandro Pizza, the group's corporate executive chef, created it with Yvon Mbiavanga, executive chef in Cannes. Reviewers have singled out burrata with truffle, sea bream crudo, Provençal chickpea fries and marinated lamb cutlets.
The look
Pale terracotta ceramics, Botticino travertine and raw-edged linen cushions set the palette of chalk, olive and coral. Rattan pendant lights hang inside, and oversized parasols shade the sunbeds facing the sea.
The season
The restaurant is open every day of the year, with about 150 covers, and serves lunch and evening service. The beach with its sunbeds runs from April to October.
Service
Service is discreet and attentive rather than theatrical. That makes Lucia a good choice for a client lunch, or for a family that wants good food more than music.
Booking
