Copal runs a Colombian and South American beach-club kitchen by chef Juan Arbelaez on the Croisette — shared plates, fish, salads at lunch, and a fuller dinner service as the beach turns in the evening.

On price the two things people ask about are the food and the bed, and they are separate. Food sits where a Croisette beach club sits; the sunbed is charged per day and by row, front row on the sand carrying the premium. Fish by weight is the line that moves a lunch bill most.

We do not republish a menu here because it changes through the season and a stale one is worse than none. Ask on the day and we will get the current card and the current bed prices from the club.

The format

Dishes are designed to be shared across the table. The club calls its daytime service a festive lunch, served every day it is open. In practice that means plates arrive in rounds and the table eats together, rather than individual starters and mains.

How service is structured through the year

In season the kitchen covers lunch on the beach and a later service that runs until midnight. In the winter months it serves lunch only, Wednesday to Sunday, closing at 5pm. A winter visit still gets the full lunch card, but there is no evening menu.

Ordering well

With a sharing menu, order a first round for the whole table and add as you go. It keeps the pace relaxed and avoids a crowded table. For a party of eight or more, ask the club ahead whether it will set a sharing menu for the group. Copal also caters weddings and receptions, so a fixed menu is a familiar request.

Dietary needs

Send allergies and dietary needs with the booking rather than at the table. With plates shared across the party, the kitchen needs to plan which dishes go to which end.

Weekends and celebrations

Copal hosts weddings and receptions as well as daily service. For a birthday or anniversary lunch, tell the club in advance. A kitchen used to event catering can work a cake or a set course into the sharing format.
