Flying into Verbier: the helipad, the valley below and the summer season
The Verbier helipad sits on the edge of the resort at about 1,500 m. It has fuel, a hangar, ground handling and a small waiting lounge. From there a car covers the last stretch to the chalet, which in snow is the slowest part of any arrival by road.
Le Châble, in the Val de Bagnes below, is where the cable car up to Verbier starts. Operators also list it as a landing point, so there is a second option if conditions at the resort pad do not suit.
The flight itself
Geneva and Verbier are both in Switzerland, so there is no border on this leg, unlike the hop to Courchevel. The natural line follows Lake Geneva and the Rhône valley to Martigny before turning up into the Val de Bagnes. The flight depends on visibility in the valleys, so the road fallback is booked at the same time.
Sion as the alternative gateway
If your jet can use it, Sion airport is about 50 km from Verbier, under an hour by road. In winter it opens from 08:00 until sunset, and heavy snow or low cloud can close its approach. We compare Sion with Geneva plus this helicopter when the flight from London is booked.
Not only a winter route
Each July the resort hosts the Verbier Festival, a classical music festival. The 2026 edition ran from 16 July to 2 August, with more than 60 main-stage concerts.
